ORTHOPEDIC PHYSICAL THERAPY
Orthopedic physical therapy diagnoses, manages and treats disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. It also helps people recover from orthopedic surgery. We provide treatment of post-operative joints, sports injuries, arthritis, amputations, and other injuries. Joint mobilizations, strength training, hot and cold, and electrical stimulation are often used to speed recovery in the orthopedic setting. Those who have suffered injury or disease affecting the muscles, bones, ligaments or tendons of the body may benefit from assessment by a physical therapist specialized in orthopedics.
Manual therapy is an excellent way to regain physical health and prevent re-injury. Our practitioners use their hands to put pressure on muscle tissue and manipulate joints in an attempt to decrease pain caused by muscle spasm, muscle tension and joint dysfunction.
We employ ongoing patient assessment, a vast array of hands-on treatment techniques, and patient education to help patients recover faster and remain healthy.
Benefits of manual therapy:
• Provide pain relief
• Restore proper joint operation
• Increase Range of Motion (ROM)
• Reduce or eliminate soft-tissue inflammation
• Improve function and strength
Therapeutic exercise is a physical therapy intervention encompassing a broad range of activities designed to restore or improve musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and/or neurologic function.
